Everyone: Today's latest news from the ODE has a couple of items of special importance. One is word from the governor on officially closing school buildings for the remainder of the school year. The other is an announcement on Microsoft Teams being the official Ohio platform on conferencing and collaboration. Details are below:

School buildings to remain closed for remainder of school year, new information available on attendance, child safety and family engagement
Governor DeWine today announced Ohio’s coronavirus-related school-building closure order will extend through the end of the school year. This order includes all public, community and private K-12 schools in the state. As more information becomes available, the Ohio Department of Education remains committed to updating online resources regularly and communicating new details via email updates. |

Microsoft Teams: Official State of Ohio conferencing and collaboration platform
Did you know the State of Ohio has adopted Microsoft Teams as the conferencing and collaboration platform for Ohio government agencies? This means that to participate in most Ohio Department of Education meetings, districts need to lift any blocks on Microsoft Teams that may be in place. |

Data appeal for 2020 assessment data open through May 29
Starting Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 29, superintendents may appeal 2020 assessment data, including assessment data for kindergarteners, grades 3-8 and end-of-course data. These data may affect measures on the 2020 Ohio School Report Cards as well as state funding received by the district. |
