[Ohiogift] New School Funding Formula Shelved For Now

The Statehouse News Bureau reports that legislative efforts to update
school funding statewide has crashed into a roadblock of lethargy and
pass-the-buck strategies. So, hopes for equitable school funding and
improvement in support for gifted services are off the table. The story:

This dispiriting news follows lockstep with the state legislature's refusal
to fund schools fairly, as ordered by courts during the past 20+ years. The
signal to Ohio youth, families, teachers and schools is clear: *You* don't
count. Further, prospects for a well-educated populace are much grimmer,
and we seem to be banished to a statewide economic decline of low-paying
service jobs and gerrymandered,  fat-cat weasels in Columbus masquerading
as responsible adults. Shame on 'em.
