HIGH-IQ SOCIETY MENSA TOOFFER ADMISSION TEST 



 
(Kettering,OH) – Dayton Area Mensa, thelocal chapter of the international high IQ society, will hold an admissiontesting session on Saturday, October 13,2018, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Kettering-Moraine Branch Library at 3496 Far Hills Ave.,Kettering and again on Wednesday, November 14 at the Beavercreek library, 3618Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. 



Testtakers should arrive about 15-20 minutes prior to testing to completeregistration. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated once testing has started.Each test taker must have a photo ID and the $60 testing fee, which is chargedby the national Mensa office to cover expenses of the testing program includingpurchasing the right to use the copyrighted test.  Those who score in thetop two percent of the general population on either of two tests of logic anddeductive reasoning are eligible for Mensa membership. 



The test is open toanyone age 14 and older, but parental permission is required for those ages14-17.  The test American Mensa administers is not normed andvalidated for persons under 14. Applicants of any age can also use priorevidence from a wide variety of other standardized IQ tests to qualify. Thisis the only way a person under 14 can qualify. Mensa also has a culture-fair,language-neutral, battery of non-timed tests given by individual appointmentfor candidates whose first language is not English or who have difficulty withtimed tests. If this would apply to you, please contact us to set up a privateappointment. Any candidate is free to take the culture-fair tests for anyreason.
 
Dayton Area Mensa has members fromelementary school age through early nineties. Mensa members come from all walks oflife, races, faiths and ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. They includeengineers, homemakers, teachers, military personnel, actors, athletes,mechanics, students, and CEOs, and have a wide variety of interests. They all shareone common trait — high intelligence. The Dayton chapter has over 200 membersin the greater Dayton-Springfield-Middletown area, and regularly organizeslunch and dinner groups, games nights, pub crawls, movie nights, gifted youthactivities and visits to various educational, cultural, and just plain funevents around the area.
