Mensa Qualification Test Aug. 29, Kettering



 

HIGH-IQ SOCIETY MENSA TOOFFER ADMISSION TEST 
 
(Kettering,OH) – Dayton Area Mensa, thelocal chapter of the international high IQ society, will hold an admissiontesting session on Wednesday, August 29,2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Kettering-Moraine Branch Library at 3496 Far Hills Ave.,Kettering. 



Test-takers should arrive about15-20 minutes prior to testing to complete registration. Late arrivals cannotbe accommodated once testing has started. Each test-taker must have a photo IDand the $60 testing fee, which is charged by the national Mensa office to coverexpenses of the testing program including purchasing the right to use thecopyrighted test.  Those who score in the top two percent of the generalpopulation on either of two tests of logic and deductive reasoning are eligiblefor Mensa membership. The test is open to anyone age 14 and older, butparental permission is required for those ages 14-17.  The testAmerican Mensa administers is not normed and validated for persons under 14. Applicantsof any age can also use prior evidence from a wide variety of other standardizedIQ tests to qualify. Mensa also has a culture-fair, language-neutral testgiven by individual appointment for candidates whose first language is not English.


Dayton Area Mensa has members fromelementary school age through early nineties. Mensa members come from all walks oflife, races, faiths and ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. They includeengineers, homemakers, teachers, military personnel, actors, athletes,mechanics, students, and CEOs, and have a wide variety of interests. They all shareone common trait — high intelligence. The Dayton chapter has over 200 membersin the greater Dayton-Springfield-Middletown area, and regularly organizeslunch and dinner groups, games nights, pub crawls, movie nights, gifted youthactivities and visits to various educational, cultural, and just plain funevents around the area.
