Dear Friend:
Earlier this month, the Administration proposed cutting $9 billion from the United States Department of Education. This includes funding for gifted and talented children.
Please call your Senators and Representative by Friday, March 31, to ask them to support:
Funding for gifted and talented children
Ensuring the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is implemented with all children in mind
Specifically ask them for their commitment to:
Invest $32 million in the Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program for fiscal year 2018 to support state and local work in implementing the new requirements in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Ensure the U.S. Department of Education issues guidance and regulations that address the education of gifted and talented children.
Please call 202-224-3121 to be directed to an operator at the United States Capitol switchboard who will connect you to your Senator's or Representative's office.
If you are interested in sending an email to one of your three Federal legislators, click here for additional contact information and sample text.
Thank you for advocating on behalf of all gifted and talented children!
Regards,
Bill
