HIGH-IQ SOCIETY MENSA TO OFFER ADMISSION TEST
 
(Kettering, OH) – Dayton AreaMensa, the local chapter of the international high IQ society, will hold amembership qualification testing session Thursday, Jan. 12, 2016, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the Kettering-Moraine Branch Library at 3496 Far Hills Ave, Kettering.
 
Test-takers should arrive about 15-20 minutes prior totesting to complete registration. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated oncetesting has started. The test takes about two hours. Those who score in the toptwo percent of the population on either of two tests of logic and deductivereasoning are eligible for membership. Thetest is open to anyone age 14 and older. The test Mensa administers is notnormed and validated for persons under 14, who may qualify by other means. For applicants at least 14 but under 18, aparent or guardian must sign for permission to take the test although theparent or guardian need not be present at the testing session. If appropriate,please contact us for the appropriate form for the parent/guardian to sign.Forms will be available at the testing session or we can send them in advanceof the test date. Each test-taker musthave a photo ID. There is no charge to take the test. To cover expenses of thetesting program the national Mensa office charges $40 to score the test andreport the results to the person who took the test. This may be paid at thetime the test is given. 
 
Applicants of any age can use prior evidence from a widevariety of other standardized IQ tests to qualify. This is the only way aperson under 14 can qualify; see http://www.us.mensa.org/join/testscores/ and http://www.mensaforkids.org.For additional information or to preregister for the test, e-mail testing at dayton.us.mensa.org orcall 937-546-7885. Preregistration is encouraged and will have priority.Walk-ins will be accepted until testing supplies or available seats run out.

The Daytonchapter includes about 250 members from elementary school age through early ninetiesand regularly organizes lunch and dinner groups, games nights, pub crawls,movie nights, and visits to various educational, cultural, and just plain funevents around the area.
