MENSATO OFFER ADMISSION TEST

 (Beavercreek, OH) – Dayton AreaMensa, the local chapter of the international high IQ society, will hold atesting session at theBeavercreek Branch Library, 3618 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio, on Tuesday,November 29, 2016, starting at 6 p.m. 


Test-takersshould arrive about 15-20 minutes prior to starting time to completeregistration. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated once testing has started.The test takes about two hours. Those who score in the top two percent of thepopulation are eligible for membership. The test is open to anyone age 14 andolder. The test Mensa administers is not normed and validated for persons under14, who may qualify by other means. For applicants at least 14 but under 18, aparent or guardian must sign for permission to take the test although theparent or guardian need not be present at the testing session. If appropriate,please contact us for the appropriate form for the parent/guardian to sign.Forms will be available at the testing session or we can send them in advanceof the test date. Each test- taker must have a photo ID. There is no charge totake the test. To cover expenses of the testing program the national Mensaoffice charges a fee of $40 to score the test and report the results to theperson who took the test. Walk-ins will be accepteduntil testing supplies or available seats run out. A non-language culture-fairbattery of tests is available for those whose primary language is not English,those who are dyslexic, or those who have a physical condition which would preventthem from taking the regular Mensa Admissions Tests. Applicants of any agecan use prior evidence from a wide variety of other standardized IQ tests toqualify. This is the only way a person under fourteen can qualify; see http://www.us.mensa.org/join/testscores/ and http://www.us.mensa.org/join/gifted-youth-admission/ or contactAmerican Mensa, 1229 Corporate Drive west, Arlington, TX 76006-6103,1-800-66-MENSA (63672). From October 25 through December 31, 2016, American Mensa will evaluatean applicant’s prior test scores FREE (normally $40).


If one qualifies for membership and becomes a member of DaytonArea Mensa within 90 days from offer of membership the Dayton Area Mensatreasury will reimburse the new member for the cost of the national office’sevaluation of his/her admission test results, whether the member took the testwith a Mensa proctor or provided documentation of a previous qualifying testscore.

Members of American Mensa range in age from 2 to 102 from allwalks of life, races, faiths and ethnic backgrounds. They include engineers,homemakers, teachers, military personnel, actors, athletes, mechanics,students,  CEOs and many others, and theyshare only one trait — high intelligence. The Dayton chapter includes about 250members from elementary school age through early nineties, and regularlyorganizes lunch and dinner groups, games nights, pub crawls, movie nights, andvisits to various educational, cultural, and just plain fun events around thearea.
