Linda Sheffield Developing Mathematical Talent and Creativity in Grades 3-6 In this session, participants will actively investigate mathematical tasks designed to challenge, motivate and develop mathematical talent, passion and creativity from the award-winning Project M3: Mentoring Mathematical Minds, a mathematics curriculum based on best practices in mathematics and gifted education. This will include research-based practices and processes to engage mathematically talented students in acting and thinking like mathematicians, such as developing students' higher-level thinking and reasoning, sophisticated mathematical discussions, and written communication about mathematical concepts. Intended Audience: Coordinators/GIS/Classroom Teachers Targeted Grade: 3-6 Room: Regent Ballroom Salon 2 (seats 160)
