The Springfield City School District is seeking a Gifted Intervention Specialist to work at Springfield High School. Successful candidates will possess or have applied for a Gifted license or endorsement from the Ohio Department of Education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Assists in the assessment and identification of gifted students
Assists in the placement of gifted students in appropriate educational services and settings
Assists school personnel in the development, appropriate dissemination, evaluation and revision of Written Education Plans for gifted students as required by the Ohio Administrative Code.
Provides curricular coaching assistance to the general education teachers serving gifted students
Collaborates with general education teachers serving gifted students in implementation of student Written Education Plan
Provides ongoing high quality professional development for teachers serving gifted students in the cluster classroom model
Assists school personnel in ensuring district compliance with accountability requirements for gifted students as required by the Ohio Administrative Code.
Meets regularly with the Gifted/Talented Coordinator
Understands the complexities of the gifted learner process and is able to design and support practices that help teacher be successful.
As set forth by our negotiated agreement, teachers work 183 days per year.

Starting salary is $35,610 and can increase based on education and experience.
