Students across Ohio who have been in gifted programs and who are
considering a career in the military might be interested in the news
(below) from Sen. Sherrod Brown regarding service academy nominations. More

* Now Considering Service Academy Nominations *
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is honored to nominate students to the U.S.
Service Academies that develop the next generation of leaders and is
inviting Ohioans to apply for nomination today. *The deadline to apply is
September 23. *

Each year, Sen. Brown nominates up to 10 students for each service academy
requiring congressional recommendations: the U.S. Air Force Academy, the
U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the
Merchant Marine Academy. Students are interviewed by a committee of active
and retired military and community leaders appointed by Sen. Brown.
Selected students are provided with the required congressional
recommendation upon applying for admission.

Interested students who meet the eligibility requirements should mail their
completed application packet to reach Sen. Brown’s Cleveland office *no
later than September 23, 2016*.
