Everyone:

The National History Club just sent out its current newsletter, and it reminds us of the deep value in studying history. To that end, the NHC can help schools organize local history chapters for middle- and high-schoolers. (A list of several hundred schools that are already sites of History Club chapters across the country is eye-opening.)

The paragraph below outlines the scope of NHC:
The National History Club Inc. (NHC) inspires students and teachers to start History Club chapters at high schools, middle schools, and within other student and community programs. Members of local History Club chapters participate in local and national programs, and create their own projects and activities. The NHC also provides chapters with resources and services that will help them increase the activity and impact of their History Club. To date, 500+ History Club chapters at high schools and middle schools in 44 states have joined the NHC, and there are over 14,000 student members. Schools are free to decide whether their chapter will be a regular History Club or a History Honor Society.

4. National History Club is in partnership with the History Channel on cable TV, found here:

Especially engaging is the section on hundreds of Famous Speeches & Audio. There you will find audio clips such as these:
Churchill's call for Britain to meet the Nazi threat,
Amelia Earhart's speech on Women in Flight,
Reagan's demand for the fall of the Berlin Wall, the
Christmas Eve broadcast from orbit by astronauts,
Clarence Thomas's refutation of charges by Anita Hill, and
Paul McCartney's talk on the rumors that "Paul is dead."

Best wishes to all who support the enjoyment of history study.
