Dear Listserv,
I will be conducting two workshops for my district and am opening them up
for educators outside South-Western City Schools. If you are available
during the afternoons of August 18 and/or August 19, please consider
joining me!

Classes:

*Adding Complexity and Extending Learning for your Advanced Students*

*August 18, 2015 1:00-4:00*

Description: Providing challenge for your advanced students can, in itself,
be a challenge. In this workshop we will explore several differentiation
strategies to use with your advanced students including tiering,
questioning, and adding depth and complexity. Bring a unit you would like
to modify.

*Supporting the social and emotional needs of gifted students*

*August 19, 2015 1:00-3:30*

Description: The social and emotional needs of gifted students are unique
and complicated. We will cover topics such as asynchrony, intensities,
anxiety, and social situations to name a few. You will leave this class
with a greater understanding of how to help the gifted children whose lives
you touch. Regardless of your position, this class can help you provide
better services to the gifted students in our district.

Register:

To register for one or both classes, email me at heather.cachat at swcsd.us.
Attendance is capped at 25 on a first come basis. After you send me a
registration email, I will email you with location information, but the
classes will be in Grove City. (In case you are not sure where
South-Western City Schools are located.)

Caution:

If you are outside South-Western City Schools, I can not provide certificates
of attendance. My understanding is that you will have to go through your
LPDC. I'd be happy do help you with this if I can.
