Friends:

Several people have asked about The Summer Laureate 2015 program being open to students according to where they live. This summer learning and enrichment program for students in grades 3 through 8 is scheduled for June 29-July 3 at the Kennedy Union on the University of Dayton campus, and it is open to ALL students in the targeted grade levels throughout Ohio, Indiana, and elsewhere.

Since the weeklong Laureate program is a daytime event, students will need daily transportation to each day's classes and other activities on campus. Most students will arrive from their homes in the greater-Dayton area, but it is also feasible for students and their parents or other caregivers to drive a very short distance from local hotels. The closest hotel is the Dayton Marriott, on the edge of the University of Dayton campus. See more, here:

Many other lodging facilities are within a few miles of the university, along I-75, I-70, and I-675. An Internet search for "hotels dayton ohio area" will generate many options.

Also, families visiting the area might want to see top tourist attractions. The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is the top tourist attraction in Ohio, and it's free and not far from the university. Links to it and other Dayton-area locales are here:

Last, all the details of The Summer Laureate 2015 are in the attached brochure. This includes registration information, classes, deadlines, and fee schedule. You’ll also find descriptions of about 20 workshops being offered. The workshops are designed for students in two tiers, grades 3-5 and 6-8.

Please mark your calendars, and please share copies of The Summer Laureate 2015 brochure with your students and their parents/guardians. Thanks!
