Coordinator Workshop

The Coordinator Division is hard at work putting the final details on the
Coordinator Winter Workshop. The workshop will be held on December 5th,
2014. This year's theme is "All Things Testing." For more information and

Teacher Academy Call for Proposal

The OAGC Teacher Academy will be held on March 30th and March 31st, 2015.
The call for proposal for small sessions is available at

2014. If you need additional time to submit a proposal, please contact Ann

Advocacy

USDOE Waiver Sought

ODE submitted a waiver request this month to the U.S. Department of
Education to eliminate the need to double test middle school students who
will be taking high school courses in areas requiring an end-of-course
exam. For more information, please go to

College Credit Plus

New information about how College Credit Plus will be implemented is slowly
beginning to emerge. There are a few aspects that may have negative
consequences for gifted students. Please go to

State Board of Education Elections

While state board of education members are often overlooked as
policymakers, gifted advocates know firsthand the impact they have on
education policy. If there is a board of education race in your area,
please make sure you do your homework before you vote.  You may

endorse any political candidate but encourages everyone to vote very
thoughtfully.

General Information

OAGC Review Articles Due

OAGC Review articles are due on November 15, 2014. OAGC is seeking any
articles that would be of interest to the gifted community. To submit an
article or to ask for an extension, please email [7]anngift at aol.com .

Parent Division Meeting

OAGC will be holding a parent division meeting at the OAGC office on
November 8, 2014. For more details, please contact Angela Grimm at
