Today's Dayton Daily News Local and State Section mentions 4 candidates for State School Board, including one "Sarah" (looks like Sally) Roberts with a gifted education background.

Sorry, Kathleen, I should have left a snippet of the post I was responding to. I was merely passing along an idea for the person who asked to know which school board candidate is supportive of gifted students.

Luckily, your vote is free, and it sounds like it could matter for this school board election.

Anne--

I really want to support other gifted children beside my own, but am finding this difficult as I am out of work and displaced.

Duress is putting it mildly.

I have written letters to groups, representatives, etc. with regard to the plight of the gifted. Our system is broken ... nothing seems to matter unless you have a name (money) and respect (also based on money).

Another thing you can try in any district is to Google "gifted" and the person's name to see if the person has any history of support for gifted children.
