[Ohiogift] State Board races

[Gifted and Talented in Ohio Discussion List]

Hi everyone, 

As you may know, there are several state board races this year. Here is a list of those individuals who have filed to run for the state board. You will note there are several interesting candidates:  In district 2, Kim Redfern, wife of Democratic Ohio Party Chairman, Chris Redfern is running. In district 3, former judge and newly appointed member A.J. Wagner is running. Sarah Roberts, former gifted coordinator of Huber Heights, is also running. In district 4, current board president, Debe Terhar has chosen not to run. In district 5, it appears there is only one candidate, Brad Lamb, who was recently appointed by the governor to run. In district 8, the very well-known Democrat, Rep. Bob Hagan is running. And finally, in district 10, challenging Ron Rudduck, the incumbent who was appointed by the governor is Ross Hardin, son of Jeff Hardin, who held the seat until his death. One district that doesn't show up in the list below is district 7, currently held by Sarah Fowler who is filling out an expired term. Once I get more information about this, I will post this as well. 

Gifted advocates know just how important the state board of education is. OAGC cannot and will not endorse any political candidates. But I do encourage all of you to learn just who is running and find out if they support issues that are important to you.
