 Friends:

Now that summer is upon us, many teachers, parents and students are looking for reading activities for entertainment and edification alike.

Two site recommendations for summer reading:
25 Books That Diversify Kids’ Reading Lists This Summer
http://blogs.kqed.org/mindshift/2014/06/25-ideas-to-diversify-reading-lists-this-summer/

Hoagies' Hot Topics Reading Lists
http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/hot_topics.htm

The first listing aims to provide diversity experiences and understanding for young readers, with top books from Caldecott, the American Library Association and others.

The Hoagies' site lists literally hundreds of books linked by topic, from Biographies, Classic Fiction, Mysteries, Science Fiction, Early Readers and Young Adult Readers to Science, History/Philosophy, Mathematics/Programming, Teen Boys and others.

Make this summer a great one with time out for reading. (Perhaps you, too, have books and/or sites to recommend for summer reading; feel free to share your thoughts here on Ohiogift on this topic.)

Best wishes,
Art Snyder
