Today the Department of Education posted the announcement for the 2014 Javits Demonstration Grants.  The applications will be due June 24. Also, the Institute for Education Sciences released information earlier this week about the competition for the National Research Center on the Gifted & Talented.  Here’s the link for more info on that:  http://ies.ed.gov/funding/ncer_rfas/gifted.asp
 
The grant competitions represent the successful conclusion of advocacy efforts to fund the Javits program in fiscal year 2014.  The fiscal year 2015 process is underway;  I’ll keep you posted when the House/Senate education appropriations subcommittees release their subcommittee versions of the 2015 education funding levels.
 
Please let others know about the Javits grant announcement – time is short to get applications in.
