As the year winds down, perhaps a few of you have book recommendations -- on gifted ed, and academics, more broadly -- that you'd like to share with your colleagues, families and others on Ohiogift.

My book recommendation for the year: Diana Senechal's Republic of Noise: The Loss of Solitude in Schools and Culture. It's a top-notch, perceptive look at the effects of discordant life on the process of learning. For more on the author:
