Hello all,
Found this on a link from the connections newsletter. Any of you have kids who are into video? Do you have ipads they can use? Or do they have phones? Great activity for language arts. The teacher division of OAGC did a great job showing how they use video in their class at the conference. Wouldn’t this be an interesting assignment to evaluate the learning they receive in the gifted class? Here is the link: http://ohioedconference.wordpress.com/2013/09/12/calling-all-ohio-students/

From ODE: We want to hear from you! The Ohio Department of Education, Office of Race to the Top, is looking for students to submit a video sharing their school experience. Students should submit a 55 second video providing a response to ONE of the following questions:

  1. What makes learning exciting to you?
  2. How does a good teacher help you to be successful?
  3. Why do you think it’s important to have a good teacher?
  4. Have you ever had a teacher that helped you to overcome an obstacle? Can you tell us about it?
  5. How has a teacher helped you understand the connection between what you are learning in school and the job you want to have when you grow up?
All submitted videos* should be 55 seconds in length and emailed to adrienne.carr at education.ohio.gov<mailto:adrienne.carr at education.ohio.gov>. Deadline is Friday, October 11. Videos will be showcased to more than 2,300 education leaders during Ohio’s Annual Statewide Education Conference on October 28 – 29, 2013.
