[Ohiogift] SLO's, Common Assessments, and Collaboration - Oh My!

Happy Friday!

There's a couple OAGC sessions I'd like to promote!

On Tuesday at 10:00 in the Easton Grand Ballroom Salon C & D we will have
a collaboration session for teachers to work together to develop common
assessments.  We are a small community, and we all know what it is like to
be the only person providing service to gifted students in your building -
perhaps even the only person in your district!  Come share ideas, talk
about what is happening in your district, and above all collaborate!  Make
those connections with someone across the state!  This session is not just
for teachers - everyone is welcome - please come and share your expertise!

assessments within the "Common Assessment" folder.  There are folders
within for grade bands, social-emotional, and research assessments.

Also on Tuesday at 2:30 in the Regent Ballroom Salon 3, Colleen Boyle will
be talking about SLOs for the Gifted Classroom.  Many of us have questions
about what this will look like for GIS.  Of particular interest from the
session description is: We will also talk about issues that impact gifted 
specialists including: size of student group tied to SLO, relevant
standards, selecting appropriate assessments, setting reasonable growth
targets, and ideas for capstone projects. We will review sample SLOs
developed by an OAGC committee and shared by ODE.

This Saturday 8-9am Ohio Gifted PLC will have a meeting on
www.bigmarker.com in preparation for this Tuesday's session.  What are the
essential questions - possible areas of assessment - etc.  Please join us
