We would typically give a 9th or 10th grade national test (Iowa test of Educational Development or something similar), or if the student took the ACT through NUMATS, I would also use the percentile or science on the acceleration scale. We would also give a release version of an 8th grade science OAA to confirm state standards are mastered and to know if there are any specific gaps in content. Of course, we would also want a recent cog score for that part of the Acceleration scale.
