Subject: ilearnOhio Early Adoption Application

ilearnOhio is a comprehensive e-learning platform funded by the Ohio General Assembly to ensure that Ohio students have access to high-quality online courses. This statewide platform includes a searchable repository of standards-aligned educational content (courses and digital resources), an e-commerce marketplace, and a learning management system to facilitate the delivery of course content from multiple providers to various end users. ilearnOhio is administered by the Ohio Resource Center, located at the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University, under the direction of the Ohio Board of Regents.
ilearnOhio is looking for schools, districts, ESCs, and other educational organizations and institutions to pilot the ilearnOhio platform this spring. Participating adopters will be given hands-on training and support to implement e-learning for the 2013–14 school year. In turn, user feedback will be required to ensure that ilearnOhio can support schools in advancing their e-learning initiatives in ways that are effective and efficient.
Early adopters will be required to attend multiple face-to-face training sessions this April, follow recommended ilearnOhio-specific practices, and report out findings sometime this May. There is no cost to participate in the pilot; however, participants will incur some indirect costs related to personnel time, equipment, space, and other areas.
This spring, ilearnOhio will send out applications to schools, districts, and ESCs that express interest in adopting ilearnOhio. The purpose of this application is to identify a diverse group of participants for the pilot, which will begin in April.
The application for early adoption will ask you to provide basic demographic information and respond to a comprehensive, detailed survey of your e-learning needs, technical capabilities, personnel capacities, administrative support, and availability for training and feedback.
Please note that every effort will be made to include as many schools, districts, and ESCs for early adoption as possible, but not all applicants may be included in this first tier. To ensure success, adopting ilearnOhio will continue on a systematic timetable.
If you feel that your institution can meet the requirements for early adoption, please have the person who will serve as the primary point of contact reply to this e-mail. Once the early adoption application is available (on or about March 15), an email will be sent and applicants will be given approximately ten calendar days to formally submit their application to pilot ilearnOhio.
