[Ohiogift] STEM with LEGOS

First Lego League isn't meant to replace core curriculum, it's an afterschool or club program. It not only promotes programming Mindstorms robots (and at the high school level designing and engineering robots), but also inquiry based learning, problem solving, team building, research skills, and communication skills. So, of course Legos can't replace science instruction, but you must agree all of these are essential to scientific inquiry.

I didn't realize that the FIRST Lego League
could teach Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics using
only LEGOS!

If they can adapt that 13-year-old's STEM curriculum
to manage all that with LEGOS, my hat is off to them!

What until all those East Asian countries learn
about our advantage in that!!

Amazing! Perhaps they will really tackle history
and academic expository writing with LEGOS next?

The just-released NAEP results show only 3% of
8th and 12th grade students are proficient in
writing at present....
