<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif"">Overview</span><o:p></o:p></p>
</div>
<div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif"">The Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) is a nonprofit environmental education organization dedicated to teaching people about bats and other nocturnal animals and inspiring people to become
good stewards of the environment. At the Bat Zone—our home base at Cranbrook Institute of Science—we care for more than 150 bats from around the world as well as owls, flying squirrels, sugar gliders, skunks and a two-toed sloth. We bring our animal ambassadors
to schools, libraries and museums, allowing people to see these amazing animals up close and learn ways to protect them. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
</div>
<div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
</div>
<div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif"">OBC program staff and animal keepers present more than 1,500 educational, engaging and inspiring presentations annually to nearly 250,000 people. The importance and uniqueness of bats is also
shared nationally through print and television appearances including The Tonight Show, Live with Regis & Kelly, The Today Show, Martha Stewart and Conan O’Brien. OBC has been combining community education, Bat Zone tours, research, and conservation projects
to protect bats worldwide since 1992. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
