Early Bird Registration Ends In Just Under 2 Weeks!

We invite you to join us for the 16th Midwest Bat Working Group Annual Meeting. This year's meeting will be held in-person (with some virtual options) and will bring together biologists, private and public land managers, private consultation organizations, educational institutions, and citizen scientists from across the Midwest.

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Downtown, Cincinnati, Ohio from Wednesday, April 3rd to Thursday, April 4th, 2024. A pre-conference social and workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd.

There will be a virtual option for those who cannot join us in person. Virtual registrants will have the opportunity to watch oral presentations live online. A link will be shared with registered virtual participants approximately 2 weeks prior to the meeting. There will be no virtual presentations this year.

Program Overview

Pre-conference Activities: On Tuesday, April 2nd, there will be a workshop on advances in radio-telemetry, focusing on drone-based and automated radio-telemetry. This will include a live demo provided by Wildlife Drones! We will also meet for an evening riverboat cruise on the Ohio River.

Wednesday, April 3rd: The meeting will formally commence with invited presentations focused on creating partnerships for bat conservation. Student and professional presentations will occur throughout the day. We will also be organizing a networking event, an evening poster session and social for all attendees, and a student social.

Thursday, April 4th: Presentations will continue throughout the afternoon. Wildlife Acoustics will be hosting a lunchtime workshop (food provided to the first 30 people to sign-up). The meeting will conclude in the late-afternoon with a business meeting and awards announcements.

Abstracts are being requested for in-person presentations and posters. We highly encourage professionals, students and researchers to submit abstracts!
