[OHIOBWG] Seeking Collaborators - Ohio bat fecal sampling

Hi All,

Please give the email below a read through – they are looking for a collaborator to work on an APHIS proposal to collect bat feces from several OH locations to test for SARS-CoV-2 and other CoVs.

Please reply by the end of this week if you are:


1) Interested in helping to coordinate site location and sampling OR

2) if you know of a bat roost where samples could be collected from

Hi All,
We are seeking collaborators to collect pooled bat quano samples in 10-20  locations in OH.--roosts in buildings, caves, etc  are fine. Ideal areas are near CLE metroparks and Belmont Co, but anywhere in the surrounding counties would be fine as well, or if this is not feasible just whereever possible in OH.

We will have containers and any PPE needed for the sample collection and can arrange pick up or pay the shipping costs to ODA.

Sorry but our time line is short so we would need your reply this week to meet the grant deadline. If interested in helping I will forward a letter of collaboration that is needed for your signature and affiliation for our grant proposal.

We sincerely hope that you can collaborate with us on this important project!
