Hello Everyone - please see the important email below from Dr. Gerry Carter about an Ohio Bat Festival to take place during bat week!

Hi all,

As part of International Bat Week, my lab will be hosting the 2022 Ohio Bat Festival (ohiobatfestival.org<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/ohiobatfestival.org__;!!KGKeukY!xTQMCH2EFYUHivRAWxsv02ilhDgMFN4-09M2J7IWsBFR3izy87fCFjtrq0DuI7kN_zAqgg85S4hI7LG_uvbNTQpz$>) on October 29, 2022 from 12 - 5 pm on The Ohio State University Campus (Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center). We plan for the festival to feature multimedia presentations, activities, and exhibits highlighting the ecology, diversity, and conservation of bats in Ohio and worldwide. This is an outreach event for the general public, and nature enthusiasts of all ages will be invited. I have been reaching out to invited speakers this week, and I am waiting to hear back if someone from The Ohio Wildlife Center can do presentations with live bats. So far, for guest speakers I have Marne Titchenell, myself, Bryan Carstens, and tentatively Joe Johnson.



This is my first time organizing an event like this, so I can definitely use some help! We are looking for help with the following:

  *   volunteers to help with setting up, running activities, and taking things down
  *   someone to hire as an event coordinator to help with managing volunteers and activities
  *   people who can lead games and activities for kids and families (such as coloring pages, face-painting, interactive games, bat origami)
  *   exhibitors who can create an educational display table
  *   donors to help us purchase food and t-shirts for volunteers
