Bat Research Field Technician
National Park Service (NPS), Bat Conservation International (BCI), Humboldt State University (HSU), and other partners are kicking off the pilot year of a winter roost study in the vicinity of Chester CA, where Pd 'suspect' bats were sampled this spring. We are hiring a bat research field technician to support bat capture, radiotelemetry, and acoustic monitoring efforts for an abbreviated field season through early/mid November. Tentative project start date is 9/25/2019, with an expected duration of 6-8 weeks, depending on conditions.

Employer: Bat Conservation International
Salary: $16.50/hour.
Location: Chester California. Shared housing provided.
Start date: ASAP
End date: early to mid November
Required qualifications: B.S. degree in wildlife/biology/ecology/environmental sciences or similar field; Valid state driver's license and clean driving record; Experience with VHF radiotelemetry.
Other requirements: experience with field navigation by map, compass, and GPS; willingness to work long, irregular, daytime or nighttime hours; ability to work independently in steep terrain, inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and/or remote locations; comfortable with shared living quarters.
