[OHIOBWG] REMINDER - Call for Papers and Sponsors!!

Hello OBWG Members!

Hope you had a great holiday break. Just a few reminders and requests...


  *   The call for papers for our annual OBWG meeting on Jan 24, 2019 is still open. Please consider submitting an abstract (directions attached) - they are due to me (titchenell.4 at osu.edu) by Dec, 21, 2018. There are great research projects going on out there, and whether you are just starting or finishing your research, we'd love to hear about it. This meeting is a great chance to share your work with other bat experts. Even if you are thinking about submitting, let me know and I'll save a space for you on the agenda.


  *   Also attached to this email is our request for sponsors to help us provide refreshments at our meeting. Those are due by Jan. 18, 2019. Thanks so much to those that have already contributed!


  *   Last but not least, is anyone planning a bat festival or bat-related event in 2019? We'd love to share it at the meeting so everyone is aware. If you'd like some time on the agenda, let me know, or we can share it for you! Also, one our of objectives (decided by the membership) was to become a more active working group. Getting involved with a bat festival would be a great way to do that - the working group may be able to provide help to those organizing. Shoot me an email if you are planning something or if you would like some help with your event.

Subject: SAVE-the-DATE - Annual OBWG meeting!

Hello Ohio BWG Members!!

We are excited to announce that the date of our annual meeting will be January 24, 2018. Please save the date on your calendars. The meeting will take place at the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Central Office (same place as last year).

We are trying something new this year, and putting out a call for papers. This decision is based on the survey results that the membership completed last year, where it was decided that a mix of invited speakers and presentations chosen from a formal ‘call for papers’ should constitute our agenda. Please see attached for details on how to submit a paper. All submissions are due December 21, 2018.

We hope to see you all in January – stay tuned for details on registration. The meeting will be free to attend.
