ACOUSTIC DATA MANAGEMENT
In a 3-day classroom setting, students learn about the theory behind recording and analyzing bat echolocation calls. We teach participants how to interpret quantitative analysis outputs from auto-classification software programs and how to perform qualitative analysis (i.e., manual vetting) to confirm bat species presence. Kaleidoscope Pro and SonoBat 4 are used extensively with real project data (or bring your summer survey data and we will help you begin to make sense out of it).

ACOUSTIC SURVEY METHODS FOR BATS
This course covers a 5-day schedule of combined classroom lectures and hands-on field practicums. The Acoustic Survey Methods course includes all the topics covered in the “Acoustic Data Management” workshop but adds in-field components. Structured outdoor field trips at nearby sites conducive for intercepting wild bats allow us to illustrate how to locate, deploy, collect, and analyze real data from active, passive, and mobile acoustic transect surveys.

21-26 January 2018: Punta Gorda, Florida (preregistration ends December 15)
