Subject: [MWBWG] meta-analysis study of bat growth and size at maturity


My students and I are conducting a meta-analysis study of bat growth and size at maturity, at large geographical and temporal scales. This study requires pooling as much data as we can possibly accumulate on bat forearm lengths, linked to GPS coordinates, sex/age, and date (or year) of capture.

We are looking for forearm data from North American or Central American bats of any species, from any years. We would be very grateful for whatever data you might be willing to share. We’d need the following information for each capture record:
1) species,
2) forearm length, and weight if available,
3) date of capture (or just year),
4) whether the bat was young-of-the-year or “older than that”, and
5) the GPS coordinates of the capture area (this can be non-specific if there are reasons you can’t share an exact capture location).

Excel is the easiest format for us, but we are happy to take any available data (this includes scanned field notes).
