Hello Ohio Bat Working Group Members,

Just a reminder that the Midwest Bat Working Group Meeting is taking place this year in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State University on April 21-22, 2016. Registration is open! Attached is the meeting announcement, including registration forms. You can also register online at www.mwbwg.org<http://www.mwbwg.org>.

Dates to note:
March 4 -  Last day to submit abstracts for presentations or posters
March 21 - Last day to reserve a discounted hotel room at the Hampton Inn & Suites (details in attached)
April 1 - Last day to register for the meeting

ATTENTION STUDENTS - This year we are offering a chance for students to network and discuss careers with professionals in the field over lunch. Lunch will be provided, but students must be members of the Midwest Bat Working Group to attend ($15 per year). Student pre-registration will be required. Email Katrina Schultes (kschultes at fs.fed.us<mailto:kschultes at fs.fed.us>) to register. Professionals by invite only.

The Dave Redell Lifetime Achievement Award - This award honors an individual who has demonstrated an exemplary, long-term commitment to promoting and preserving bats in the Midwest through research, conservation, education, or other creative projects.  Any MWBWG member from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, or Wisconsin is eligible to be recognized. The nomination form is attached. Please submit forms by March 28, 2016.

7th Annual MIDWEST BAT WORKING GROUP Meeting

April 21-22, 2016



LOCATION:  The Ohio State University, Ohio Union



WHO SHOULD ATTEND?  Anyone who works with bats or is interested in learning the latest news on bats and bat research.


WHAT IS THE MIDWEST BAT WORKING GROUP? We are a group of professional biologists in state, federal, academic, and private organizations as well as students and concerned citizens dedicated to the conservation of bats and their habitats, particularly in the Midwestern United States. We work to address bat-related issues with a regional approach. Every year, members come together to present findings and exchange information to better understand and conserve bat species in the Midwest. Join our list-serve at www.mwbwg.org<http://www.mwbwg.org> and consider becoming a member for $25 (professional) or $15 (student) when you register for the annual meeting!



Attention Student MWBWG Members!!! This year we will be having a Student/Professional Mixer for our student members! Come have lunch with professionals working in the bat field - free lunch included! Not a member? It's only $15 a year to join! Registration details are in the attached Meeting Announcement on page 2.
