Subject: Indianapolis Airport Bat Tech job posting
Bat Field Technician Position:
Indiana State University is seeking five field technicians to assist with research involving the federally endangered Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis). This research will occur in Plainfield, IN, and is part of a long-term monitoring effort. Duties will include mist-netting, radio telemetry, emergence counts, acoustic surveys, video surveys and conducting roost plots.
Technicians are needed from May 20 to August 19 and can expect to work long shifts including late nights (up till 4 am) up to 10 nights in a row. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are the most important qualities we're seeking.
This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or recent graduate to gain experience with a variety of field techniques. The employee will gain hands-on experience using bat detectors, infrared video monitoring techniques, as well as radio telemetry techniques. We will begin reviewing applications March 12.
Please find the attached announcement or visit www.isubatcenter.org<http://www.isubatcenter.org> for more information about the position and application process. Feel free to contact Julia Hoeh at airportbats at gmail.com<mailto:airportbats at gmail.com> with any questions.

Approved by the Indiana State University Board of Trustees February 17, 2012.
