Subject: UV-WNS Workshop Announcement

Attached is an announcement for a workshop that is being co-sponsored by the Shawnee NF and Illinois Department of Natural Resources on November 7th in the use of ultraviolet equipment in the early detection of Gd. on bats. Please distribute to all parties that you think would have an interest in attending the workshop. There is no cost for the workshop. For questions, give me a call. We have a limit of 50 people that we can accommodate at the meeting facility.

The Henry N. Barkhausen Cache River Wetlands Center is a wonderful facility owned by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and is located immediately adjacent to some excellent bottomland hardwood wetlands managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Cypress Creek NWR. There should be a good number of waterfowl here in southern Illinois by the date for the meeting (assuming we receive some badly needed rainfall) so bring your binoculars if attendees want to do some wetland bird watching while at the workshop. The Cache River is a major waterfowl and wetland bird migration and wintering corridor in southern Illinois and some really nice bald cypress swamp.
