Bat researcher needed for projects throughout the Eastern U.S. Must have Federal Collecting Permit or enough experience to obtain one.
Required experience:

  *   Indiana Bat mist-netting and identification
  *   Radio telemetry tracking to roost trees and conducting night time foraging studies
  *   Deployment and maintenance of acoustic monitoring devices for ground-based stations and elevated masts/towers
  *   Acoustic data analysis
  *   Winter and summer habitat assessments

Qualifications:

  *   BS or higher degree (MS preferred) in wildlife biology or related field
  *   Ability to work independently and/or lead teams during biological surveys
  *   Experience with GPS and GIS Software
  *   Ability to work in rugged terrain at irregular hours
  *   Willingness to travel extensively

Market Sectors:
Successful applicants will be conducting bat studies for coal companies, wind energy companies, petroleum pipeline, transportation and highway departments for various states, military installations, small and large scale development projects. The applicant should be comfortable working within these industries; therefore, people with reservations or objections to working in these industries, should NOT apply.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
