<p class="MsoNormal">As part of its 2017 Annual Conference, the Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations (COHEAO) is pleased to offer a track of programming geared toward professionals involved in student financial wellness. Set for Tuesday,
<b>January 31 and Wednesday, February 1</b>, the financial wellness track offers an option to learn more about the ways of Washington, advocacy, and how laws and regulations can impact your campus or organization’s operations (and vice versa).

<p class="MsoNormal">This program will allow financial wellness delegates to learn more on having a voice in Washington as well as the reauthorization of the
<i>Higher Education Act </i>and other federal laws and regulations pertaining to student financial services and student financial wellness. Tuesday will be focused largely on advocacy and the inner workings of Congress, while Wednesday includes a meeting of
COHEAO’s Financial Wellness Taskforce and conference sessions aimed at financial wellness delegates.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">After a half day of sessions with Washington insiders and advocacy information, all conference attendees, including financial wellness delegates, are encouraged to visit with their legislators and their staff. As requested, COHEAO can help
pair advocacy novices with more seasoned veterans and assist in coordinating meetings.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In addition to the visits to Capitol Hill, conference presenters will include key players on the reauthorization of the
<i>Higher Education Act</i> and other issues affecting the industry. Representatives from the Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education and the Office of Federal Student Aid are confirmed for the financial wellness track. Congressional speakers
and representatives from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Financial Education have also been invited. Previous Congressional speakers include Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI), Rep. Luke Messer (IN), Rep. Mark Pocan (WI), Subcommittee on Higher Education
and Lifelong Learning Chair Virginia Foxx (NC), Rep. Tim Bishop (NY), among others!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Registration prices are discounted significantly for the financial wellness track. Registration fees are only $300 one and half days of conference activities. The conference is held at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, which is incredibly
convenient to Reagan National Airport and a short cab or metro ride away from the Capitol. COHEAO also would love for financial wellness delegates to attend the full conference. Please
