If it is not too bold, I would like to suggest myself to key-note in June of 2019.

I take a different tack.  What is mostly covered in the NFW body of information is how to manage cost, debt, etc…. But I speak to the point of how a student’s leaves college on that path where they can be smart with their money and reach a point of financial independence in this pension-less world.  I am speaking to how to teach, long term financial wellness with a retirement that they will enjoy.

I attended the first two NFW events (OSU and IU).  Both Phil and Bryan know of my early work that is not expanded upon.  At Ohio University, I teach a class, Transitions:  From Campus, to Career Success, to Wealth Creation & Protection.  This is the journey They are on, even if you don’t know It.  I am in my 4th semester and the class keeps expanding (over 100 students this year).

At Hocking College, I have re-engineered the career center in order to teach students both the path to multiple Job Offers as well as how to build their Financial Independence in this pension-less work.  We are running 1,200 students through this curriculum this semester.

I have also developed the Student Retirement Calculator, where students can plan for their first role and see a potential outcome in their 60’s.  It is incredibly powerful tool that student love and it inspires them to leave college with a basic plan, and ambition to do the right things financially to well off during the long term.

I have lectured in over two dozen colleges (MIT, Georgetown, VA Tech, Howard, Syracuse, Spellman, etc...) to over 20k students.  They are enthusiastic about this work, and typically say, ‘no one is giving us this insight.’

I am a gifted speakers and if given the opportunity will score high with the audience both for the perspective of  thought provoking insight, along with tangible action steps to help students, delivered with an upbeat and motivational manner.

I’m pleased to announce that in June 2019 Ohio State will be hosting, in conjunction with NASPA, the Student Financial Security and Wellness Conference in Orlando Florida.  You can expect to hear more details as plans are finalized, but for now I’d love to hear any suggestions you all have for key-note speakers.
