Hello Everyone!

This is a reminder that the deadline for proposals for NASPA and Ohio State's annual Symposium on Collegiate Financial Well-Being is this Friday, February 9th. Please consider submitting a proposal about the work your campuses are doing around financial well-being or consider attending to share your experiences and learn with campuses from across the country. The early-bird registration deadline is March 16th and the Regular Registration deadline is April 27th. You can find more information using the invitation below or by visiting this link: https://www.naspa.org/events/2018SCFWB.

Also, although this conference is similar to the HEFWA Summit that many of you (including me) will be attending in July, our partnership with NASPA and co-location with the 2018 NASPA Closing the Achievement Gap: Student Success in Higher Education Conference (https://www.naspa.org/events/2018ctag), make it a unique experience. If you submitted a conference proposal or are working on one for HEFWA, I encourage you to submit it to this conference as well.

FINAL NOTE: Although the deadline is this Friday, if you need a little more time to submit, let me know, and we will likely be able to work something out. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

Thanks!

Bryan

Financial well-being is critical to student success

In 2015, researchers at The Ohio State University (OSU) found that 70% of college students are stressed about finances<https://news.osu.edu/news/2015/07/01/financial-wellness/>, and financial stress has been shown to have serious impact<http://www.ingentaconnect.com/contentone/springer/jfcp/2016/00000027/00000002/art00003> on student success. NASPA and The OSU are partnering to offer a dynamic Symposium that will address the complexities of college students' financial well-being. Participants will learn strategies for helping students improve their fiscal health during college and remain financially stable after graduation.
