[Natfinwellness] Registration for the 2018 HEFWA Summit now open!

Hello everyone,

The Advisory Committee for the Higher Education Financial Wellness Summit
is pleased to announce that registration for the 2018 Summit is now open.
The second annual HEFW Summit will be held at Portland State University in
Portland, Oregon July 15-17, 2018.

This year’s offerings, available on the registration form, include 3
general pre-conference sessions and a new addition this year:

Morning (8:30 - 11:30am) pre-conference sessions will include:

   -

   The Start-Up Institute - Our popular session for first-time attendees to
   help get you up to speed by providing vital information on jump-starting an
   effective financial wellness program and trends in the field
   -

   Bringing Financial Wellness into the Classroom - This year’s installment
   of the annual Program Enhancement Series focuses on gathering and providing
   data to administration, materials to include when building a financial
   literacy course, and marketing to the campus community
   -

   Training Peer Educators through a Wellness Lens - Focusing on competency
   areas to incorporate into a peer program; examples for training activities;
   and addressing areas related to multicultural competency, power and
   privilege, identity, and meaning-making


In the afternoon (11:45am - 4:20pm), we will be offering our first
Pre-Summit Keynote speaker, which will include lunch and breakout sessions
to follow. The session will kick off with a keynote (speaker to be
announced soon) discussing issues around students in financial crisis,
those who are affected by emergency situations, students who are in need of
emergency resources, and broadly how institutions handle these types of
circumstances.

Registration for the “Pre-Note” event will include lunch and participation
in 4 short breakout sessions. The rotational breakouts will serve as
continued discussions on the pre-note event, focusing on the following
topics:

   -

   Food and housing insecurity
   -

   International students and DACA
   -

   Unforeseen and natural disasters
   -

   Personal crises (ie: family, health, etc.)



To register for any of the pre-conference sessions or the pre-Summit
keynote and discussions, make sure to select the option(s) of your choosing
on your Summit registration form. General pre-conference sessions are $40,
and the pre-Summit keynote, lunch, and discussion are $60
