Hi Jill,

Congrats on the new class! That's super exciting. I've attached the
syllabus and instructor guide for the course I teach, which is specifically
geared for creative professionals who need fundamental small
business/freelance money management skills. It can be tailored for a range
of individuals, but if your students will pursue very traditional career
paths, rather than creative or freelance career paths, this could be a good
starting point for you.

The course is a 16-week three-credit undergraduate elective course at CCAD,
where I lead the department of business and entrepreneurship. I've taught
it for five years now, and I am really pleased with how it has evolved. In
general, approximately 30 students enroll in the course each semester, and
they tend to be sophomores, juniors, and seniors, all with creative fields
of study in art and design.

The text I use is *Arts & Numbers, *which is my own book and specifically
tailored for creative professionals. It is a trade publication, rather than
a textbook, and it is an affordable enough price point to make it work for
all students (Amazon usually has it for ~$9-10 and libraries have it for
free). We do cover creative apps, tools and websites, although this section
(as you can imagine!) is always changing.

The instructor guide includes discussion questions for all the readings,
plus descriptions of the in-class activities. I hope this helps! Congrats
again on the course.

Warmly,
Elaine
