Hi Kelsey,

We have a group of 7 peer mentors currently. Here is what we post on the
job listing:

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

Must be in good academic standing- Preferred 3.0 GPA and be meeting
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Experience working in a high volume, high pressure environment.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, motivation, dedication, and
ability or experience working with students from diverse backgrounds in an
advising capacity.
Demonstrate ability to work well as part of a team or independently, as
needed.
Willingness and desire to learn about financial literacy.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications,
including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with financial aid and/or personal finance (preferred).

I've had representatives from other universities ask me if we find our
peers from a specific major, like economics and finance. I'm not sure if
that's something you're considering, but we've found that students from all
majors and backgrounds can work well as a financial literacy peer if they
have the interest in the topic and desire to learn and help other students.

Hope that's helpful!
