[Natfinwellness] Personal Financial Management Certification

Hi Rebecca.

Is our ACC available to organizations outside of the AFCPE membership or outside of Credit Counseling Agencies? For organizations doing peer-to-peer on campus that may not need quite the broad approach that the AFC provides, I think the ACC might be a good fit (especially since it wouldn't take a full year of the college student's four years on campus to achieve). However, since I've never been able to find much information about it on our website, I get the impression that the ACC is kind of the redheaded stepchild we keep hidden away so as not to compete with our flagship. Is that an accurate (if a bit dramatic) assessment? :)

Claudia,
Happy to speak with you about AFCPE's AFC(r) program, and/or our financial coaching programs with Sage Financial Solutions as well. Our AFC provides comprehensive life-cycle financial education and covers everything from credit/debt to retirement and estate planning. We have several pathways for professionals who meet some or all of the required competencies, including a University approved program option.

Give me a call if you have other questions. Thank you!

Claudia,

We've used Inceptia CPFM in the past for our peers and I'd be more than happy to talk to you, or anybody else that's interested, about it.

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday!

Our office at UC Berkeley has a peer-to-peer financial literacy program and we have been considering ways to have our peers go through some sort of certification process in addition to the training we provide. We think this would be beneficial both to better prepare them to meet with students and to invest in their professional development.

We just discovered the Inceptia Personal Financial Management Certification program for higher education professionals, peer counselors, and college administrators: http://www.inceptiacpfm.org/. Have any of you had your staff or peers go through this certification and can you provide feedback on the program? Does anyone have their staff or peers go through a different certification program?

Thank you in advance for your input!

Best regards,
