The collective communication benchmarks are set to have a default number
of iterations which the user can change when running.  This can be

measures how long the warmup iterations take, and then uses this
measurement to estimate how many iterations to do in a full measurement
within a certain time limit.  Might something like this be considered?
Can contribute a patch if that is the case.
