Hi, Dimitris.

Can you please install libibumad-devel? That will give you umad.h.

Thx,
Hari.

Subject: [mvapich-discuss] Installation problem using Infiniband

Hi all,

I am trying to install MVAPICH2 version 2.3.1 on a machine with Debian 8 (Jessie), Intel Xeon E5-2609 2.40 GHz and Mellanox-QDR HCA Infiniband. I am following the instructions mentioned on the support page.

After running configure for the first time, I got this error"configure: error: "infiniband/mad.h not found. Please retry with --disable-mcast"

However, since I want to use infiniband I installed the package libibmad-dev. After that the configure stages passes successfully, but I am receiving the same error on the make step. More specifically, the error is the following:

src/mpid/ch3/channels/common/src/mcast/ibv_mcast.c:17:10: fatal error: infiniband/umad.h: No such file or directory #include <infiniband/umad.h>

How can this error be solved? Since I have already installed the libibmad package, and the configure stage runs successfully, I shouldn’t run into this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time in advance,
Dimitris
