[mvapich-discuss] Announcing the release of MVAPICH2-X 2.3rc1 and OMB 5.4.4

The MVAPICH team is pleased to announce the release of MVAPICH2-X
2.3rc1 (with support for advanced MPI Features, OSU INAM, and Hybrid
MPI+PGAS) and OSU Micro-Benchmarks (OMB) 5.4.4.

MVAPICH2-X 2.3rc1 provides support for advanced MPI features/support
(XPMEM, enhanced asynchronous progress design, User Mode Memory
Registration (UMR), Dynamically Connected (DC) transport protocol,
On-Demand Paging (ODP), SHARP and Data Partitioning-based Multi-Leader
Design (DPML) for MPI collectives, Contention Aware Kernel-Assisted
MPI collectives, and Non-blocking Collectives with Core-Direct), OSU
INAM, and hybrid MPI+PGAS (UPC, OpenSHMEM, CAF, and UPC++) programming
models with unified communication runtime for emerging exascale
systems. This library also provides flexibility for users to write
applications using the following programming models with a unified
communication runtime: MPI, MPI+OpenMP, pure UPC, pure OpenSHMEM, pure
UPC++, and pure CAF programs as well as hybrid MPI(+OpenMP) + PGAS
(UPC, OpenSHMEM, CAF, and UPC++) programs.

Features and enhancements for MVAPICH2-X 2.3rc1 are as follows:

* Features and Enhancements (since 2.3b):

    - MPI Features
        - Based on MVAPICH2 2.3GA
            - OFA-IB-CH3, OFA-IB-RoCE, PSM-CH3, and PSM2-CH3 interfaces

    - MPI (Advanced) Features/Support
        - Support for XPMEM-based point-to-point operations
            - OFA-IB-CH3 and OFA-IB-RoCE interfaces
        - Support for XPMEM-based MPI collective operations (Reduce and
          All-Reduce)
            - OFA-IB-CH3 and OFA-IB-RoCE interfaces
        - Enhanced asynchronous progress designs for progressing non-blocking
          point-to-point and collective operations
            - OFA-IB-CH3, OFA-IB-RoCE, PSM-CH3, and PSM2-CH3 interfaces

    - UPC Features
        - Support Contention Aware Kernel-Assisted MPI collectives

    - OpenSHMEM Features
        - Support Contention Aware Kernel-Assisted MPI collectives

    - Unified Runtime Features
        - Based on MVAPICH2 2.3 (OFA-IB-CH3 interface). All the runtime
          features enabled by default in OFA-IB-CH3 and OFA-IB-RoCE interface
          of MVAPICH2 2.3 are available in MVAPICH2-X 2.3rc1

* Bug Fixes (since 2.3b):
    - Fix issues with OpenSHMEM Non-Blocking remote memory access routines
    - Fix compilation warnings and memory leaks

New features, enhancements and bug fixes for OSU Micro-Benchmarks
(OMB) 5.4.4 are listed here.

* Bug Fixes (since 5.4.3)
    - Deprecate the need to specify get_local_rank when running GPU-based
      benchmarks
    - Enhance error checking for GPU-based benchmarks
    - Fix issues in GPU-based OpenACC benchmarks
