[mvapich-discuss] Specifying interface when using MVAPICH2 compiled for slurm

To any interested members of the MVAPICH discussion list,

When running MVAPICH2 compiled for slurm (i.e. when only "srun" is available to launch an MPI job), is there any way to mimic the behavior of the option "-iface" used for mpirun/hydra? Our network is a mix of ethernet and inifiniband, meaning that only a subset of the nodes have an infiniband interface. We have also found that our application only works when using ch3:mrail, as opposed to nemesis. Specifically, using mpirun with "-iface ib0" results in correct behavior, but I am unsure of how to force the same behavior when using "srun" with the slurm-compatible MVAPICH2 implementation. I've been trying passing different options to srun for a few days now, with no success. Any advice (including if I should really be asking this to the slurm folks!) would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Regards,

Seb
