[mvapich-discuss] Compiling mvapich2 version 2.2 for omni-path and ib

Hello Prasad,

A compromise alternative could be to use Omni-Path’s verbs support. With the *strong* caveat that it is expected to not be as performant as PSM2.

Thanks,

Hello Prasad,

Currently, MVAPICH2 does not support this feature. It is on our road map and will be available with a future release.

Till then, I hope you can work with two separate MVAPICH2 builds. The following links to the user guide have instructions on how to configure MVAPICH2 for InfiniBand and Omni-Path enabled clusters respectively. Please let us know if you have any issues in building and running MVAPICH2 and we will be glad to help.

Hi,

At Florida State University, we have a cluster with both ib and omni-path and I would like to have one compilation of mvapich2 that work for both networks if possible. I played with --with-device=ch3:options and --with-device=ch3:nemesis: options but I was not able to find a working solution. Has anyone tried this? I appreciate your input on this.

Thank you,

Prasad
