[mvapich-discuss] Announcing the release of OSU InfiniBand Network Analysis and Monitoring (INAM) Tool 0.8 and MVAPICH2-X 2.2a with support for OSU INAM

The MVAPICH team is pleased to announce the release of OSU InfiniBand
Network Analysis and Monitoring (INAM) tool - OSU INAM v0.8 and the
advanced MVAPICH2-X 2.2a library with support for OSU INAM.

OSU INAM monitors InfiniBand clusters in real time by querying various
subnet management entities in the network. It is also capable of
interacting with the MVAPICH2-X software stack to gain insights into
the communication pattern of the application and classify the data
transferred into Point-to-Point, Collective and Remote Memory Access
(RMA). OSU INAM can also remotely monitor the CPU utilization of MPI
processes in conjunction with MVAPICH2-X.

* Features of OSU INAM v0.8:
    - Analyze and profile network-level activities with many parameters
      (data and errors) at user specified granularity
    - Capability to analyze and profile node-level, job-level and
      process-level activities for MPI communication (Point-to-Point,
      Collectives and RMA) in conjunction with MVAPICH2-X
    - Remotely monitor CPU utilization of MPI processes at user specified
      granularity in conjunction with MVAPICH2-X
    - Visualize the data transfer happening in a "live" fashion for
        - Entire Network - Live Network Level View
        - Particular Job - Live Job Level View
        - One or multiple Nodes - Live Node Level View
    - Capability to visualize data transfer that happened in the network
      at a time duration in the past for
        - Entire Network - Historical Network Level View
        - Particular Job - Historical Job Level View
        - One or multiple Nodes - Historical Node Level View

* Features of MVAPICH2-X 2.2a specific to OSU INAM:
    - Support for OSU InfiniBand Network Analysis and Management (OSU INAM)
      Tool v0.8
        - Capability to profile and report node-level, job-level and
          process-level activities for MPI communication (Point-to-Point,
          Collectives and RMA) at user specified granularity
        - Capability to profile and report CPU utilization of MPI processes
          at user specified granularity
