[mvapich-discuss] WARNING: Error in initializing MVAPICH2 ptmalloc library. Continuing without InfiniBand

I read the following post of your's on using LD_PRELOAD=<path_to/.../libmpi.so> to fix the issue with this error. I am curious to learn: Why do I have to explicitly pre-load this library when it comes to ptmalloc library.
